Norwegian based Aker Solutions has confirmed that it will be looking to cut up to 70 offshore oil and gas jobs.
The cuts will come from its UK subsea base, located in Aberdeen. Aker has said that consultations for 30 day redundancies are underway with its staff.
Aker Solutions, moved into its new GP£80 million (US$123m) Aberdeen base in April, confident that the offshore oil and gas market would be sound.
However, last month, Aker announced that it would be slashing its Norwegian workforce by as much as 500, it also hinted that a further 400 subsea jobs would go throughout its wider global operations.
