Aker Solutions to cut wages of maintenance staff, as it continues to grapple with the state of the industry in the Norwegian offshore sector.
According to Aker, all staff at its Norwegian maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) business will be taking a pay cut.

Senior management will be taking a cut of 10% whilst other staff will be taking a cut of 5%. Aker have said that the new pay del would start to take effect in March of this year.
Aker Solutions President Norway, Per Harald Kongelf, said: “We are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to secure a sustainable future for our business,”
“Reducing salary costs is one of multiple measures needed to safeguard our competitiveness and reinforce our ability to win more work in a market with unprecedented challenges.”
Possible Job Cuts
Aker Solutions Norway is also looking to cut it workforce by around 900 in a bid to reduce its uncompetitive overheads.
Head of MMO, Knut Sandvik, added: “These are necessary adjustments to stay competitive and secure jobs in a challenging market. The measures are supported by labor unions.”
