Global oil and gas services giant Amec Foster Wheeler, has said that the company is ‘uniquely placed’ to lead the UK’s rapidly growing offshore decommissioning industry.
Speaking at, Decom North Sea, a UK focused offshore decommissioning conference, Amec’s business development manager, Bob Churchill started to set out the company’s stall for the rapidly growing offshore oil and gas decommissioning market.
Bob Churchill told the audience that the company had over 15 years experience in the decommissioning of the nuclear industry, adding that knowledge gained, could now be applied to the North Sea oil and gas industry.

Bob Churchill told the conference that Amec had not only worked within nuclear decommissioning, but “had led the development of Lifetime Plans”
He said that leading from the nuclear sector would result in cost savings and make the ‘seamless transition’ from an assets late life operation.
Bob Churchill said: “When combined with our extensive oil and gas skills and knowledge, this means we are uniquely placed to bring this learning to the North Sea, where we are already shaping the new horizon and proactively finding solutions.”
