Bilfinger Salamis UK has expanded its Southern North Sea (SNS) operations, moving into a new Great Yarmouth base.
The industrial services specialist has been servicing the UK offshore oil and gas industry for decades, having its original SNS base in the Norfolk town, up until 1997 when it found the need to expand and moved out to nearby Lowestoft.
The move has been taken by Bilfinger management, in a bid to better service their clients across the UK SNS.
Great Yarmouth is known as the oil, gas and renewable hub for much of the UK’s southern sector activities, hosting more companies from the offshore industry than any other UK location outside Aberdeen.
Salamis, as it is more commonly know in the UK, is part of the wider Bilfinger Group that supplies a host of engineering services right across Europe.
Within the UK offshore energy industry, the company supplies, scaffolding, fabric maintenance, insulation and non destructive testing, as part of its specialist access solutions.
Salamis’ new offices are located in the newly refurbished Havenbridge House in the centre of the town, whilst its warehousing facilities will be located in the towns outer harbour in Bressay House.
Commenting on the expansion, Bilfinger Salamis MD, Graham Hayward said: “I very much look forward to welcoming clients to our new operating base in Great Yarmouth.
“The newly refurbished Havenbridge House facility is an ideal base for our SNS regional office with improved conference facilities and a large open plan office.
“Alongside our new logistics facility, the move puts our business close to both our customer offices and the East Anglian marine bases, delivering significant transport efficiencies for us and our clients.“
