Bristow Helicopters Ltd has secured a 5 year contract, with BP worth £125m, for its East and West Shetland operations out of Sumburgh airport.
Bristow Helicopters Ltd, the UK arm of the global helicopter operator Bristow based in Huston, Texas, has secured the contract for all BP offshore operations out of Sumburgh Airport.
The £125 million contract will run for 5 years from July 2015, with an option to extend for a further two.
The contract will give BP sole use of two Sikorsky S-92 aircraft, for its operations to the East Shetland Basin and West Shetland.
Mike Imlach, Director of European Operations for Bristow Helicopters described the BP contract award as “A significant win for Bristow, we look forward to operating a safe efficient service supporting BP’s offshore requirements from Sumburgh. This contract also will grow our presence in Shetland, where we already provide Search & Rescue services to the Maritime & Coastguard Agency from Sumburgh Airport and offshore helicopter services to the Integrated Aviation Consortium from Scatsta Airport.”Last updated on 02:18PM - 10/12/14
