Two offshore drilling rigs scrapped from North Sea by Statoil, as the company continues to cut back on its offshore drilling activity in the Norwegian sector.

Media sources have indicating that the COSLPromoter and COSLInnovator semisubmersible drilling rigs have been shelved by the company.

The COSLInnovator had suffered damage in winter storms towards the end of 2015 which also sadly led to the death of one offshore worker.

No comment has been given by either Statoil or COSL Drilling.
