Independent offshore oil and gas exploration and production company, EnQuest, have announced first oil from their UK North Sea Alma / Galia field.
The London listed company said production was achieved Tuesday (27th), after the completion of commissioning of all production systems.
EnQuest CEO, Amjad Bseisu, said “We are pleased to confirm first oil from Alma/Galia. We will continue to open up additional wells, with full production rates expected from early 2016.”
Located 310km (193 mi) south east of Aberdeen, the Alma and Galia fields sit in UKCS license blocks 30/24c and 30/25c respectively.
The wells have been tied back to the EnQuest Producer Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), a EnQuest operated asset.
The EnQuest Producer has the capacity to process around 57,000 barrels of oil equivalent and store 625,000 barrels of oil
