AMEC has been appointed by TAQA UK to undertake engineering, procurement and construction of modifications to Tern platform.
The works will allow the Tern to accommodate a new subsea tie-back to the Cladhan field. AMEC will also provide the commissioning support.
The contract award follows AMEC’s recent completion of the front end engineering design for the project. Part of a long-term engineering agreement with TAQA that began in 2012, work begins immediately and is due to run through to December 2014.
Having recently opened two new offices in Aberdeen to accommodate 300 people AMEC hopes to grow on this award as well as strengthen existing contracts.
The Cladhan development is TAQA’s third field development and its largest project to date. It’s expected the Cladhan will produce over 17,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) with first oil expected early 2015.Last updated on 12:03PM - 20/04/14
