Job Description:

Scope of Work:

  • To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent Rope Access construction service in accordance with Project/Company requirements, standards and procedures
  • To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule
  • To ensure all that all work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment
  • To manage all required rope access discipline tasks, safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, procedures and specifications
  • Focal point for Rope Access requirements
  • Interface between project office & platform for Rope Access activities
  • To complete all Plating/Fabrication work in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards

Scope of responsibilities and duties:

  • Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the Rope Access work scope is completed, in compliance with IRATA regulations and to the highest standard of safety.
  • Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
  • Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team.
  • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete work scope in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Inspection of equipment ensuring certification meets safety expectations of task
  • Attend progress meetings as and when required.
  • Provide timely feedback to supervisor of ongoing status or completion of the task.
  • Participate and contribute to AMEC's Emergency Response procedure and process.
  • Participate and contribute in AMEC's nationalisation/personnel development programmes
  • Attend and participate positively in toolbox talks.
  • Attend and participate positively in training sessions and safety sessions.
  • Attend and participate positively in Communication

Experience-

Essential:

  • Demonstrable relevant experience in Rope Access operations in line with IRATA Level 3 requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in RA/Fabrication discipline
  • Thorough understanding of Rope Access equipment, types & manufactures
  • Rope Access Level 3 / Supervisor experience
  • Working experience with varied work sites
  • Ability to read, develop and understand concise work packs, Risk Assessments, and instruction associated with Rope Access activities

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable relevant experience in Rope Access/Fabrication discipline disciplines

Qualifications and Training -

Essential:

  • IRATA Level 3 Rope Access qualification
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • BOSIET
  • MIST
  • Medical OGUK
  • CA -EBS Certificate
  • Appropriate documented evidence confirming the trade (CV / IRATA Log Book) suitable for task
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Employer & Public Liability Insurances (if Ltd Co.)
  • Recognised Plating/fabrication Apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme
  • Nationally recognised Qualification in Plating/Fabrication
  • NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in fabrication and welding or NVQ Level 3 in fabricating of steel structures (plating)

Desirable:

  • ISSOW
  • AMEC Foster Wheeler mandatory training, induction, risk awareness, etc.
  • OPITO Stage 3 or 4 Rigging
