Job Description:

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Machinist for the BP Quad offshore project. The scope of work is for 1 trip as 2 weeks holiday cover. Mobilisation date of mob date of Wednesday 21st September

Purpose / Role

  • To ensure all that all workscope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment
  • To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent joint integrity/piping construction service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures
  • To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule

Key aims and objectives

  • To perform all required discipline tasks, safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, procedures and specifications

Prime responsibilities and duties

  • Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the joint integrity/ piping / assembly workscope is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Complete all workscope in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
  • Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team
  • Raise applicable Permit to Work (PTW) in order to complete workscope in a controlled and safe manner
  • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience post machine shop apprenticeship and/or on-site machining training coupled with recent on-site experience
  • Demonstrable experience in an On-Site Machining Technician role using portable flange facing and pipe cutting machines. (preferably within the last three months)

Desirable

  • Demonstrable offshore experience in an On-Site Machining Technician Role
  • Demonstrable experience of using internal and external mount flange facing machines
  • Demonstrable experience in machining raised face and RTJ Flanges and also hubs
  • Demonstrable experience in heavy wall pipe cutting
  • Demonstrable experience of using hot tapping equipment
  • General slinging and lifting experience with in house training

Essential

  • ECITB Assessor Verified and/or Industry or Supplier approved portable flange facing, pipe cutting and/or milling machine training
  • Offshore certs: BOSIET AND MIST
  • Offshore Medical OGUK

Prior to Mobilisation

  • Working at Height 2

  • Abrasive wheels

  • BP Quad induction

  • An Amec Foster Wheeler Health Screening

Eligibility to work

  • Candidates are required to have eligibility to work within the European Union to be considered for this role
