Job Description:

Amec Foster Wheeler have identified a need for the provision of Certification Engineering services for civils projects. Services will be provided on a project based in Hemel Hempstead, initially for a 3 month period. Serice provider will have extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry ideally with experience of civils projects.

Workscope

  • Carry out the project specific certification activities as detailed in the Project Quality Plan and as directed and instructed by the Project Manger / Lead Quality Engineer
  • Ensure that all necessary quality records are identified and retained in accordance with company, client and regulatory requirements
  • Be familiar with the requisition requirements and equipment / material specifications
  • Be fully familiar with the verification and inspection release processes and ensure their compliance
  • To participate (as necessary) in management visits / audits to Suppliers and Sub-contractors
  • To report promptly to the Project Manager all matters related to certification
  • Be familiar with project document handover process
  • Provide input and support the subcontractor / supplier evaluation processes and monitor subcontractor / supplier performance
  • Review Supplier / Subcontractor Fabrication / Certification Dossiers
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of current EU Directives and associated UK regulations
  • Provide performance data as requested for reporting purposes

Skills & Experience

  • Technically qualified / time served trades person
  • Civils biased or demonstrable civisl experience in a similar role
  • Trade registrations / vocational qualifications
  • Has certification experience
  • Has come from an engineering and / or inspection background
  • Has a broad knowledge of construction, fabrication and inspection techniques
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards
