The new flotel Safe Zephyrus is ready for offshore work, as owners Prosafe take delivery from the Sembcorp Singapore shipyard.
The vessels owners, Cypriot based Prosafe, announced the news saying: “Safe Zephyrus is scheduled to commence a contract in Norway early Q3 2016”
Safe Zephyrus Ready For Offshore Work
The Dynamically Positioned (DP3) Safe Zephyrus has the capacity to accommodate up to 450 personnel and has been designed to work in the harsh conditions of the North Sea sectors of the offshore oil and gas industry.
The accommodation vessel has already been signed up by Det Norske to work on the development of their latest oil field- the Ivar Aasen field.
The Ivar Aasen field sits 109 miles (175km) offshore Norway and is scheduled to produce first oil towards the end of 2016 once hook up and commissioning are complete.
The Safe Zephyrus will be on location in the Ivar Aasen field from June to December 2016 providing accommodation, office facilities and a supply base for the development work.
