Det Norske, operators of the PL340 licence, and its partners have begun to produce from the North Sea’s Boyla field.  It is the fourth producing field now in the Alvheim area, with investment in the field overall now at over $658 million.

The field’s recoverable reserves are expected to hit around 23 million b/oe. Det Norske will take a share of 15 million b/oe.

The production solution is being operated via a subsea installation which uses a single water injection wall and two horizontal producing wells. The production rate may exceed 20,000 b/oe when the installation is operating at its maximum output.

The field is tied back to existing pipeline infrastructure via the Alvheim FPSO – a 28km stretch of pipeline.
