Subsea 7 win BP work extension offshore UK, adding a further two yeas to a longterm contract held with the oil and gas major and securing work for its Aberdeen base.
Subsea 7 announced the contract Wednesday saying: “We are pleased to extend our delivery of IRM services for BP’s west of Shetland developments.
Subsea 7 Win BP Work
The extension will see Subsea’s current contract extended to 2019, ensuring the company prime position in the redevelopment of the BP operated Schiehallion and Loyal fields, West of Shetland.
The contract covers the supply of Subsea Construction, Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) services across the BP operated Schiehallion, Loyal, Foinaven and East Foinaven fields west of Shetland.
All project management, engineering and procurement for the contract will continue to be conducted through the company’s Aberdeen operating base.
Subsea 7 Vice President UK and Canada, Phil Simons, said: “In the current commercial environment our track record in IRM and in-house capability for remote tooling design, build and operation, ensure we continue to offer low-cost solutions and respond to our client’s challenges and needs.”
We look forward to working with BP on maximising the production objectives for their operated fields.”
Subsea 7 BP
This is the second BP contract win for Subsea 7 in recent days, having secured work on BP’s West Nile Delta development, offshore Egypt last month.
The contract will see Subsea 7 supply engineering and project management to the subsea construction phase of the offshore development.
