French subsea construction specialists, Technip, have been given notice by the Norwegian trade union, Industri Energi, that its members plan to boycott its vessels.
The argument stems from the French firm not giving all workers operating within Norwegian waters equal pay and rights.
The union said that an independent investigation has found that Technips Singapore based operations, make employees work for wages and working conditions far below Norwegian standards.
Industri Energi had been looking to arrange a collective agreement for all the firms offshore workers to solve the problem, but Technip refused.
Industri Energi has said that a notice of boycott had been delivered personally by staff to Technips Singapore offices
The trade union has said its members will now be implementing a boycott of the firms vessels from 23rd October 2015.
