Wintershall has awarded a string of contracts for well completion equipment and services supply in its Maria development, located in Norway.
The series of four-year contracts has been awarded to Halliburton, Tendeka, TCO, Schlumberger, PTC and Honeywell.
“These contracts are a win-win business for Wintershall and our partners in Norway. They give us the certainty of a robust solution for our drilling activities in the months and years to come, as well as the flexibility to use them on our developments in the future”, Bernd Schrimpf, Wintershall Norge Managing Director, said.
Wintershall Awards More Maria Contracts
The wells will be drilled by the drilling rig Deep Sea Stavanger and most of the work will be done by Halliburton.
The contracts will be used for the completion of wells on the Norwegian company’s Maria development, located in the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea, with the option to use the contracts for the company’s Skarfjell development in the future, Wintershall informed.
The contracts have a duration of four years and can be extended for up to four additional years. The scope of work includes the supply of downhole valves, packers, liner hangers, injection systems, gas lift equipment and sand screens.
Wintershall Optimises The Maria Development
“In a challenging market environment, these are also important contracts for the Norwegian supplier market”, Schrimpf added.
“These are competitively tendered contracts that reflect the current market conditions. After a thorough procurement process, we are satisfied that we have signed a series of contracts that will deliver maximum value to Wintershall and our partners on our Maria development and on the rest of our operated assets,” said Hugo Dijkgraaf, Wintershall Maria Project Director.
Wintershall and its partners are expected to drill six subsea wells on the Maria field in the Norwegian Sea throughout 2017.
